Why you need to try a weighted blanket!

When you have sleep issues, you are willing to try everything to get better sleep! But sleep issues are usually specific to you, and what works for you might not work for someone else. Except when it comes to the weighted blanket! I have tried everything- sleep medicine to meditation to strict night time routines. While they work, it’s not an absolute solution because sometimes you can’t do your sleep routine and taking medicine to sleep well isn’t a long term solution. There is something going on in your body that is not right, and that shows up at midnight when you are staring at the ceiling thinking about every little mistake you have made in the last 10 years. I would assume that if I completely got rid of my phone, I would sleep wonderfully. But that is never going to happen for any of us (unless you live on a farm, which if you do, I am super jealous!). Screen time is inevitable and most of our jobs depend on it. I tried the weighted blanket a year ago, and I have not slept a night without it at home. When I travel, I even check a bag for the blanket if I am going home or somewhere easy like LA. Obviously I am not going to bring it everywhere with me since is weighs 15-20 pounds. I actually just ordered one for my parents’ house, so I do not have to worry about bringing it home anymore. And guess who else ordered one? Both of my parents ordered this Ivory one after they heard me raving about it and how I finally and sleeping 8 hours a night. Everyone in my family know that I have struggled with insomnia on and off for 8 years. So for me to be on cloud nine, talking about how much I sleep a night, is a BIG deal.

Here is a great article that explains all of the benefits of the weighted blanket.

  1. The Quility premium weighted blanket- $99- I prefer the 60X80 and 80 lbs size which is perfect or one person in a queen bed or sharing a king bed. I tried the 15 pounds, but I think that is better for a child. I am 110 pounds and 5’4, and the 20 lbs is perfect!
